Getting a driving license is often seen as a rite of passage, filled with excitement and a sense of independence. I l the thrill of heading to my first driving test, imagining the freedom and possibilities that awaited.

However, for someone like me, and others with similar needs, that journey can come with unique challenges.
Back in 2019, I attempted to get my license. While I found the theory part manageable, the practical test was a different story. The car provided was an old model from 1999, and it wasn’t adapted for my needs. Without the necessary adaptive features, it made the process not only challenging but also quite discouraging.
This experience highlighted the importance of adaptive vehicles, which are essential for people with disabilities. It’s not just about driving; it’s about safety, comfort, and true independence. As I consider giving it another go, I’m reminded of how vital it is for everyone to have equal access to the tools that grant them freedom.
